Product Manager (Open-source DevTool)

HCMC, Vietnam

The story of dbx (dbdiagram, dbdocs, and DBML)

We launched dbdiagram.io as a side-project in late 2018 with no marketing budget, at the moment it has over 500K around the world and become 1 of the most popular database design tools in the market.

Our second project, dbdocs.io, is a tool to help developers create database documentation site for their applications, got 500 early requests in the first month.

Seeing the potential of this, we spun off its DSL language into open-source language DBML (github) to define database schema. It has been picked up and adopted by organizations across the world since. Our vision is to see DBML become the open-source industry-standard for defining database schema for every web application. Imagine in every web application, there is a database.dbml to represent the database structure.

dbx (dbdiagram, dbdocs, & DBML) is on a mission to improve developers' productivity by offering the best tools to work with databases. We are looking for relentless and passionate builders to join our team to drive dbx towards that mission. And as a Product Manager of dbx, you will be responsible for the success of dbx products in terms of both strategy and execution.
